Descent 3 for Macintosh Demo

Please complete all four parts of the installation process before attempting to play Descent 3 Demo for the first time.

INSTALL DESCENT 3 DEMO
1. Double-click on the "Descent 3 Demo Install" icon located in the open window.
2. Follow the instructions.  A folder named "Descent 3" will be created on your hard drive.  Two different graphic versions of "Descent 3 Demo" will be created in the folder, "OpenGL" and "Glide."  If you have a 3Dfx Voodoo graphics card installed in your Mac use the "Glide" version.  Otherwise, (most people) use the "OpenGL" version and install OpenGL drivers.

ENABLE VIRTUAL MEMORY (If your computer has less than 128M RAM)
1. Under the Apple Menu on your Macintosh desktop, select "Control Panels",
    then select "Memory".
2. Turn "Virtual Memory" on.
3. Set the editable field to 128 (or greater).
4. Close the "Memory" dialog box and restart your computer. 

INSTALL GAME SPROCKETS
If your are running a MacOS system version 7.5.1 through 8.5 you will need to install Game Sprockets.  Double-click on "Game Sprockets 1.5 Installer."  Follow the on-screen instructions.

INSTALL OPENGL
Double-click on the "OpenGL 1.1.2 Intstaller" and follow the instructions.  This step is not required if you already have OpenGL version 1.1.2 or greater installed or if you have a 3Dfx Voodoo graphics card and plan to use the "Glide" version of Descent 3 Demo.

NOTE:  Newer versions of OpenGL will be made available by Apple Computer on their website at http://www.apple.com/opengl/.  Descent 3 Demo requires OpenGL version 1.1.2 or greater.
