AUTOMATIC CRASH RECOVERY To make sure that a crash is fully recoverable, Links LS 2000 has a built in automatic (emergency) save feature. The last two games played are saved as LASTGAME and OLDLAST, respectively. You can resume either of these games by clicking the RESUME button on the Main Menu. If a crash occurs, restart Links LS 2000 as usual. When the game starts, it will recognize that an abnormal termination occurred and will ask you if you want to resume the previous game. If you click YES, it will automatically resume LASTGAME. If you click NO, you can still re-enter the game later by clicking RESUME and selecting LASTGAME from the list of saved games. If you start a new game, it takes the place of LASTGAME and LASTGAME takes the place of OLDLAST. The previous version of OLDLAST will be erased. If resuming your LASTGAME continues to crash, try restarting your computer. 2. RUNNING OTHER APPLICATIONS WITH LS2000 Due to the requirements the LS2000 imposes on your system, it is not recommended that you run any applications in the background while LS2000 is running. 3. HARDWARE/SOFTWARE CONFLICT ISSUES Symptoms: - Sound stuttering, repeating, or sound contains static Cause : - This can be caused if Power Management is enabled and "kicks in" while Links is running. Solution: - Disable Power Management features within the Control Panel. If you have not created a player and begin or resume a tournament, you are required to play with a default player. You may not create a player in a tournament. 4. OPTIONS/GAME SETTINGS - The Rotate Swing Ball option and Folded Score Card option are not available in Links LS 2000. - If you choose to use meters instead of yards, the yards on the hole preview do not change. To get the number of yards for that particular hole in meters, pull up the score card. 5. OTHER QUESTIONS We recommend going through the lessons included in the game. To access to the lessons from the Main Menu, click the LESSONS button. For access to the lessons during game play, click the MENU pop-up, select HELP, and then select LESSONS. We recommend that you do not leave Links LS 2000 playing unattended for an excessive length of time. Links LS 2000 is designed to take full advantage of a technique known as "multithreading," which allows for much faster screen redraws and physics calculations. Unfortunately, multithreading is extremely sensitive to the timing of your individual system. If extra applications are running in the background, or power management (either in the operating system or from your motherboard) "kicks in" during your game, the timers that Links LS 2000 requires to run properly may be off, and your game experience may not be as enjoyable as it would be otherwise. If you change your swing type within a round, verify score will not work at the end of the game. We hope you enjoy playing Links LS 2000 as much as we enjoyed making it.
